FAQs
Do you provide materials and equipment?
We can source and provide the garden materials, tools, and plants for your project, providing you with a quote to consider. This is at a further cost to our booking.
Do you do hands on work/implementation of the garden?
Yes, we can integrate this as part of your project. You can also hire us to do the hands on makeover or creation of your garden.
We do not offer complete landscaping, but can install your vegetable garden beds, tree planting, soil, seeding, etc in consultation with your staff, director, and/or school principal.
How long do your programs go for?
It’s up to you! We have taught stand alone one hour sessions, weekly visits, right through to visits across a whole semester. We can tailor a teaching and learning sequence to your needs.
What will my longer project cost?
It depends. Please get in touch to discuss your needs.
A longer program such as a weekly 2-3hr visit (working with a few groups or classes) for the term costs around $8500-$9000 for the term.
What is your background/experience in education?
We are both trained and experienced in teaching permaculture, gardening, and sustainability.
Will has worked for over ten years in the NSW public system as a classroom teacher and in leadership roles. He draws on his experience to enhance school curriculum connections with permaculture and sustainability, and understands the busy school environment.
Anthea is trained in Children’s Services and travelled to complete her Permaculture Teacher Training with ABC Gardening Australia’s Hannah Maloney and esteemed permaculturist and illustrator Brenna Quinlan. She combines her love of gardening with social permaculture principles to design student-focused inquiry experiences.
Are you experienced in my setting?
We have delivered learning experiences in the preschool, primary school, OOSH, and high school setting.
We have delivered education sessions to students from schools across the Hunter Valley and are both a registered supplier and familiar with the EdConnect process.
